  • Provide legal guidance on AI-powered products, including data usage, model training, output risks, and responsible AI governance
  • Oversee privacy compliance activities including DPIAs/PIAs, data subject requests, law enforcement inquiries, and cross-functional risk mitigation efforts
  • Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements such as DPAs, and support broader commercial, partnership, and M&A transactions
  • Monitor global privacy and AI regulations, translating evolving legal requirements into clear, actionable business guidance
  • Collaborate with Security, Engineering, and Operations teams to strengthen privacy hygiene and reduce organizational risk exposure
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 10+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in-house at a technology company
  • Strong expertise in global privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and related regulatory frameworks
  • Proven experience building and scaling privacy compliance programs in a technology-driven environment
  • Prior experience managing and developing legal teams in a fast-paced organization
  • Significant experience advising on product, privacy, or data-related legal matters in a tech company
  • Strong ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical, business-friendly guidance
  • Experience advising on AI, ML, or emerging technologies is highly valued
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on, from legal strategy to detailed contract review
  • Preferred certifications such as CIPP/US or CIPP/E, and strong familiarity with evolving AI regulations
Benefits:
  • Equity ownership in a high-growth, privately held company
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with significant employer coverage
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents, plus additional leave for birthing parents
  • Inclusive family support benefits including fertility, menopause, and midlife care resources
  • Flexible paid time off, holidays, and sabbatical opportunities
  • Mental health support including therapy, coaching, and wellness resources
