The Java / Spring Boot Software Developer will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system design to implementation, testing, and deployment. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain object-oriented software applications using Java.
- Build and enhance backend services and REST APIs using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
- Develop modern frontend applications using ReactJS and component-based design approaches.
- Perform software requirements analysis, system integration activities, research, and technical design.
- Apply software engineering principles, standards, and methodologies to solve complex technical challenges.
- Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices by creating unit and integration tests throughout the development process.
- Support CI/CD workflows by contributing to automated build, testing, and deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins, Harness, or GitHub Actions.
- Design and integrate APIs, including RESTful endpoint architecture, versioning, and documentation using standards such as OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Work with data streaming technologies, including Kafka concepts such as producers, consumers, topics, and partitions.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business and operational goals.
- Provide technical expertise and contribute as a subject matter resource when needed.
The ideal candidate is a skilled software developer with experience building enterprise applications and a strong understanding of modern development practices. They should demonstrate technical proficiency, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative remote environment.
- 2+ years of professional experience in software development or related engineering roles.
- Proven experience developing object-oriented applications using Java.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend development.
- Experience building frontend applications with ReactJS.
- Solid understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and best practices.
- Practical experience with Test-Driven Development, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery workflows.
- Knowledge of REST API design, integration patterns, and documentation practices.
- Exposure to Kafka or similar data streaming platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to apply technical standards and methodologies to support business objectives.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
