We are seeking an experienced HL7 Integration Engineer to design and deliver healthcare technology integrations that improve clinical workflows and patient care experiences.
This role focuses on connecting healthcare systems, electronic health records, and monitoring platforms through secure and reliable data exchange solutions.
You will act as a technical subject matter expert, partnering with customers, hospital teams, and internal engineering groups to implement complex integrations.

You will help optimize the flow of patient data between bedside technologies and enterprise healthcare systems while ensuring successful deployments.

The HL7 / Systems Integration Engineer will lead technical integration efforts, support customer implementations, and ensure seamless communication between healthcare systems and digital health platforms.
- Design, configure, and implement HL7-based integrations between healthcare solutions and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, and similar platforms.
- Lead HL7 interface mapping activities, including ADT inbound messages, clinical data flows, patient assignments, and alarm notification integrations.
- Partner with customers, hospital IT teams, and internal technical stakeholders to define requirements and manage complex integration discussions.
- Conduct technical demonstrations, explain integration capabilities, and help customers overcome implementation challenges.
- Support integration testing, validation activities, and go-live execution strategies to ensure successful deployments.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues by collaborating with engineering, development, sales, and other cross-functional teams.
- Provide advanced technical support for deployed systems, resolving escalated issues and collaborating with development teams when needed.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation materials, and integration guidelines.
- Support pre-sales activities by engaging healthcare IT teams, answering technical questionnaires, and setting expectations around implementation requirements.
- Manage multiple integration projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, timelines, and strong customer relationships.
- Develop expertise in remote patient monitoring platforms, connected healthcare devices, and wireless technologies.
The ideal candidate brings strong healthcare IT experience, hands-on HL7 integration expertise, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT, systems integration, healthcare technology, or a related technical role.
- Strong experience with healthcare IT environments and Electronic Health Record (EHR) integrations.
- Practical experience working with HL7 interfaces, including ADT, ORU, ORM, and related healthcare messaging standards.
- Experience delivering healthcare technology solutions as a vendor, consultant, or healthcare organization employee.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly with customers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- HL7 technical certifications are a plus.
- Experience with SQL queries, stored procedures, programming, or scripting is beneficial.
- Familiarity with HL7 interface engines such as Mirth, Cloverleaf, or Rhapsody is preferred.
- Knowledge of networking concepts including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, routers, switches, wireless access points, and security protocols is a plus.
- Experience with Windows Server administration, Visio, system architecture design, and data flow diagrams is advantageous.
- Competitive annual salary range of $95,200 - $142,800 USD depending on experience, qualifications, location, and market factors.
