Job Description

Manhattan University, a NCAA Division I institution, and member of the Northeast Conference (NEC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time position as Assistant Coach for the Men’s Volleyball Program to recruit, develop and retain qualified student-athletes and assist in all aspects of conducting the program.
Assists in identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes.
Assists with preparation of practice and competition including scouting duties.
Assists with on-court practice and competition at home and away sites.
Assists with the planning of road trips, team meals and travel itinerary.
Assists with recruiting visits and itineraries.
Drive team van to away matches.
Volley metrics film assessment + scouting reports.
Responsible for using ARMS software to maintain and update activities regarding the program.
Attends scheduled department meetings.
Assist with administrative duties.
Maintains a professional relationship with student-athletes, colleagues and administrators.
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
3+ years of full-time prior experience at the NCAA DI/II level.
Assertive, outgoing, hard-working and resourceful.
Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Required to travel and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, alumni, and community.
