Job Description
Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce, and people together in a powerful and unique way.
The Steward will manage the daily cleanliness of kitchen operation. Areas of responsibilities include dish room operations, night cleaning, back dock cleaning and maintenance, banquet plating and food running. Performs duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment are in a clean and orderly condition.
Responsibilities
- Sweep and mops floors throughout the course of the day
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, hoods and cutting boards
- Remove garbage and places it in designated containers. Hoses out garbage cans
- Wash pots, pans and trays by hand
- Scrape food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks for the dishwashing machine
- Assist with prep work such as washing and peeling vegetables
- General up-keep of the kitchen, back dock and hallway
- Dry or polish dishes before putting away in proper location
- Organize all equipment and puts it back in the proper location
- Follow all sanitation, equipment handling, chemical usage, and safety procedures
- Actively show respect for the product coming through our doors as well as your fellow co-workers. A positive attitude must be exhibited even during the most trying times
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Southall Leadership
- Minimum of 1 year in the industry
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Individuals are organized and uphold the standards of Southall Farms
- Conversational Spanish is preferred but not required
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs.
- Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods as needed?
- The ability to do precision work using hand tools or work aids to work, move, guide, or place objects or materials. Requires considerable dexterity of hands and fingers to do detailed work in a consistent manner. Some repetitive motion of hands and wrists is required
