As a Principal Workday Engagement Manager, you will oversee complex implementation and support initiatives, ensuring successful delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. You will serve as the key connection between clients, consultants, and internal teams, driving alignment across multiple projects. The Principal Workday Engagement Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of Workday engagements, ensuring successful project delivery, maintaining strong client partnerships, and supporting continuous improvement across delivery operations. This role requires exceptional leadership, organization, and communication skills to manage multiple initiatives and deliver value to customers.
- Serve as the primary connection between clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure alignment and successful engagement delivery.
- Lead multiple Workday engagements simultaneously, including Launch Flex, Launch Express, Phase X, and Application Management Services (AMS) projects.
- Ensure projects remain within agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and contractual commitments.
- Monitor project health, identify risks and issues, and proactively manage escalations and mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular customer governance meetings, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly status updates.
- Support resource planning, work assignments, and consultant coordination across multiple engagements.
- Build trusted client relationships and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure customers receive exceptional service and become strong references for future opportunities.
- Contribute to the growth and maturity of Workday delivery practices through innovation, strategic thinking, and process improvements.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Workday professional with a strong background in engagement management, project delivery, and client relationship management. They should have the ability to manage complex programs, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced consulting environment.
- Active Workday Engagement Manager or Project Manager certification required and must remain current throughout employment.
- 6–9 years of experience within the Workday ecosystem, including experience with a consulting partner, Workday, or client-side teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading at least seven Launch Flex and Launch Express deployments through successful go-live.
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent Workday projects across implementation, optimization, expansion, and support engagements.
- Strong understanding of Workday methodologies, including project approaches, risks, client readiness requirements, and delivery strategies.
- Experience managing projects using tools such as Smartsheet, with the ability to quickly learn platforms including Jira, ServiceNow, and Salesforce.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage complex workloads.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving, leadership, and relationship-building capabilities.
- Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
