Position Summary:

Tigua Facility Services (TFS), part of Tigua Inc., supports federal facilities, operations, maintenance, logistics, and mission-support requirements. Tigua Inc. is owned by the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo (Ysleta Tribe). This anticipated position will support Air Force Civil Engineer Center operations, facilities, test ranges, laboratories, and research, development, test, and evaluation activities at Tyndall Air Force Base.

Maintain, configure, repair, inspect, calibrate, document, and support laboratory and pilot-plant equipment, systems, facilities, inventories, tools, safety devices, and work-center records. The role combines hands-on mechanical/electrical/electronic support, laboratory readiness, equipment accountability, coordination, and general facility maintenance.

This role supports a potential contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, component testing, repair, alignment, calibration support, and replacement of faulty mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Complete minor modifications to instruments and equipment and apply established methods of repair, testing, alignment, and calibration.
  • Prepare and reconfigure laboratory equipment, facilities, pilot-scale systems, processes, modular furniture, and support arrangements as directed.
  • Assemble and operate laboratory and pilot-scale equipment, systems, and processes within training and authorization limits.
  • Initiate and document repairs, deficiencies, alterations, and new construction using AF Form 332, Microsoft Office, Government work orders, and other required systems.
  • Coordinate vendors and base support functions including custodial, security, fire, safety, health, environmental, grounds, utilities, maintenance, and network infrastructure.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment inventories, CA/CRL records, turn-ins, data entry, equipment documentation, supply inventories, tool control, and work-center records.
  • Schedule and document TMDE calibration; coordinate with AFCEC logistics and PMEL; support AFTO Form 45 and new-equipment accountability actions.
  • Inspect and service facility and safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, AEDs, eyewash stations, fixtures, lights, work surfaces, glassware, floors, and non-permanent equipment.
  • Move laboratory equipment, hazardous materials, or waste using approved methods; comply with chemical, laboratory, safety, environmental, life-safety, and hazardous-material requirements.
  • Work independently to resolve assigned issues and support other trades and work centers when project manpower is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of three years of related laboratory, pilot-plant, instrument, equipment-maintenance, industrial maintenance, or technical-support experience.
  • Ability to perform routine calculations and use computers, office software, databases, and automated record systems.
  • Knowledge of laboratory policies, safety, security, material storage/retrieval, glassware preparation/maintenance, and work-center housekeeping.
  • Skill using and maintaining hand tools and safely performing minor mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs or equipment modifications.
  • Ability to apply established repair, testing, alignment, calibration, inspection, and preventive-maintenance methods.
  • Ability to satisfy the background investigation and installation-access requirements established by the final contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an Air Force, DoD, federal, chemical, environmental, research, test, industrial laboratory, or pilot-plant environment.
  • Experience with TMDE, PMEL, AFMETCAL, AFTO Form 45, CA/CRL, CTK, tool control, equipment accountability, AF Form 332, CMMS/work orders, or life-safety inspection records.
  • Technical certificate or associate degree in instrumentation, electronics, electromechanical systems, laboratory technology, industrial maintenance, chemistry, or related field.
  • HAZWOPER, laboratory safety, electrical safety, calibration, equipment-maintenance, first aid/AED, or comparable technical training.

Contract Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, and satisfy installation access requirements.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate Government-owned vehicles when authorized.
  • Ability to comply with applicable Air Force, DoD, federal, state, local, safety, environmental, information-security, and facility requirements.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday within the anticipated 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time operating window, with maximum staffing during core hours, currently 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Availability for occasional flexible schedules, approved travel/temporary duty, emergency response, severe-weather preparation or recovery, and mission-essential crisis support.
  • Ability to use Government and company work-order, database, reporting, document-control, and communication systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other trades, logistics, laboratory, safety, fabrication, Government, and subcontractor personnel.

Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials consistent with assigned work and approved lifting practices.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, wind, noise, dust, dirt, grease, uneven terrain, and active maintenance/test environments.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and respond to short-notice site conditions safely.
