  • Lead technical design for high-impact projects, translating complex logistics challenges across consumer and enterprise marketplaces into effective, production-ready solutions.

  • Develop and deliver features that improve fulfillment efficiency, operational performance, and the overall experience for customers, shoppers, and retail partners.

  • Ensure critical, Tier-0 systems remain highly reliable, performant, and observable, with clear ownership and strong operational practices.

  • Establish and promote platform engineering best practices in collaboration with product, compliance, and engineering stakeholders.

  • Incorporate AI-assisted tools and workflows into everyday development to increase individual and team productivity.

  • Mentor engineers and promote high standards for code quality, automated testing, system reliability, and operational excellence.

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of professional backend software development experience.

  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language. Experience with Ruby, Python, or Go is relevant; Ruby experience is not required.

  • Strong understanding of service and API design, including REST and RPC, database technologies, and system design principles for distributed and scalable applications.

  • Hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating asynchronous, event-driven systems in production environments.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across complex, cross-functional teams.

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in fulfillment, logistics, or e-commerce software is preferred.

  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration and state-machine-based systems is an advantage.

  • Regular use of AI-powered coding tools, such as Claude Code or Codex, is preferred.

  • Experience developing systems subject to regulatory requirements or financial compliance is an additional advantage.
