This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of Construction-to-Permanent (C2P) lending operations from post-closing through construction completion and conversion to permanent financing. You will lead and scale a growing operations team, ensuring strong execution across construction loan management, draw processing, compliance, and borrower experience. The role combines operational leadership with deep subject-matter expertise in construction lending, requiring close coordination with underwriting, servicing, compliance, IT, and risk teams. You will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory adherence, and process efficiency across a high-volume lending environment. Acting as both a hands-on leader and strategic owner, you will drive continuous improvement in workflows, systems, and team performance. This position is highly visible, with direct impact on risk management, customer satisfaction, and business growth.
In this role, you will oversee end-to-end Construction-to-Permanent loan operations while leading team performance, system optimization, and cross-functional coordination.
- Oversee the full C2P loan lifecycle from post-closing through construction completion and conversion to permanent financing.
- Ensure construction loans are administered in compliance with approved budgets, policies, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of Construction Loan Management Partners, fostering accountability and high performance.
- Establish KPIs, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement across operational teams.
- Manage construction draw processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to service level agreements.
- Serve as escalation point for complex draw issues, disputes, and high-risk loan scenarios.
- Strengthen relationships with builders, retailers, and borrowers through clear communication and issue resolution.
- Oversee conversion-to-permanent processes, ensuring documentation completeness and minimizing operational risk.
- Own and continuously improve construction lending policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Act as business owner for Encompass LOS workflows related to construction lending, driving system optimization and automation.
- Partner with IT, compliance, risk, and operations teams to implement system enhancements and process improvements.
This role requires extensive mortgage banking and construction lending experience, combined with strong operational leadership and system expertise.
- 10+ years of experience in mortgage banking operations.
- At least 5 years of direct experience in Construction-to-Permanent (C2P) lending.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Encompass LOS or similar loan origination systems.
- Proven leadership experience managing, training, and scaling operational teams.
- Strong understanding of construction lending workflows, draw processes, and conversion requirements.
- Deep knowledge of compliance, risk management, and regulatory standards in mortgage lending.
- Strong ability to manage complex workflows, high volumes, and operational risk.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across internal and external partners.
- Hands-on, lead-by-example leadership style with strong focus on team development and accountability.
