Job Description
Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is a non-profit organization whose motto is “We put people to work”. We were founded in 1916 and are one of the largest providers of rehabilitation services in the State of Ohio.
We currently have Full-Time opportunities available for creative, motivated, and enthusiastic employees who would like to begin a career working with and advocating for individuals with disabilities. The main function of this position is to support and assist those that we serve while building a strong foundation at their job sites leading to maintained successful employment and therefore economic stability.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six months experience working with individuals with disabilities in a vocational setting preferred
- Comfortable using computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Must be able to pass criminal, state, and federal background checks as well as DMV checks
- Strong decision making, time management, and professional communication skills
- Able to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays
- Mush have sufficient auto insurance to transport individuals
- Must possess reliable transportation
Essential Duties:
- Provides hands on instruction to participants on job tasks at the worksite.
- Assists participants in the completion of job tasks at the worksite.
- Provides job site personal and work adjustment training.
- Provides travel training on the public transportation to participants.
- Maintains ongoing communication with designated team members regarding participants and services.
- Establishes and maintains ongoing communications with employment site work force.
- Provides follow along/extended supports to eligible participants under established guidelines.
- Develops, modifies, and implements service plans for assigned participants.
- Prepares monthly progress reports, discharges and other relevant participant-related documents.
- Schedules and chairs staffings for assigned participants.
- Maintains participant case folders in accordance with CARF, OVR/OOD, DODD, and facility standards.
- Maintains records on travel expenses, billable hours, work schedule.
- Observe and prepare job/task analysis
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Able to work in a variety of employment settings dependent entirely on participant job matches: indoors, outdoors, manual labor, industrial or office environment.
- Able to physically assist participants in a variety of jobs/tasks.
- Must be available for evening, weekend, holiday, early morning hours as needed.
- Must have reliable independent transportation with valid insurance and be able to travel extensively (locally).
- Must be willing to carry a pager and respond in a timely manner.
