Truck Driver, Medium - Fort Knox LRC in Fort Knox, Kentucky at Red River Science & Technology

Position Summary

The Truckdriver operates a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers’ houses or places of business.

Essential Functions of the Position

· Operate a straight truck, 11/2 to 4 tons inclusive, usually 6 wheels

· Load and unload truck with or without helpers

· Make minor mechanical repairs

· Keep truck in good working order

· Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

· Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations

· Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned

· Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles

· Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy

· Performs other relevant duties as assigned

Physical Demands

· Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.

· Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

· Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.

· Noise level can range from minimal to intense.

Minimum Qualifications

· Must have a CDL class C or above with a Hazmat endorsement.

· Must maintain clean driving record and valid state driver license.

· Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.

· Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.

· At least 21 years old.

· Have held a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
