We are growing and seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and compassionate Surgical Assistant to support our surgeons in a fast-paced, high-quality oral surgery environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on clinical work, values teamwork, and is committed to delivering excellent patient care.
What You’ll Do
As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting clinical operations and ensuring a safe and efficient patient experience:
- Chairside assisting during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including extractions, dental implants, and grafting
- Assisting with sedation and anesthesia cases, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery support
- Monitoring and documenting patient vital signs throughout procedures
- Preparing and maintaining surgical instruments, equipment, and operatories
- Ensuring strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols
- Taking diagnostic imaging and radiographs in compliance with applicable regulations
- Providing clear pre- and post-operative instructions and compassionate patient support
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and charting
- Supporting compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and safety standards
- Collaborating with clinical and administrative team members to ensure a smooth patient flow
What You Bring
- Prior dental assisting or surgical assisting experience (oral surgery experience is a plus)
- Experience assisting with sedation procedures or a willingness to learn
- CPR/BLS certification
- Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
- High attention to detail and ability to anticipate provider needs
- Professional, calm, and reassuring chairside manner
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to travel between nearby office locations as needed
