Reports to: Director of Production Planning and Scheduling

Position Summary:

The Production Scheduler supports the Director of Production Planning and Scheduling in planning, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules for pipe manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for working within the company’s scheduling platforms and ERP systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and adaptable production plans.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed production schedules using company scheduling platforms
  • Plans and establishes production schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Assist Project Managers in developing and maintaining a project baseline schedule
  • Execute scheduling directives and priorities established by the Director of Production Scheduling
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to track progress, identify constraints, and ensure alignment.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to monitor material availability and incorporate procurement lead times and supply constraints into production schedules.
  • Continuously monitor production status and update schedules to reflect real-time changes in production.
  • Sequence production activities to optimize workflow, minimize downtime, and improve overall plant efficiency
  • Support the Director in identifying bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and opportunities for process improvements
  • Ensure accurate data entry and reporting within ERP and scheduling systems
  • Communicate schedule updates, changes, and risks clearly to the Director and relevant stakeholders
  • Assist in short-term and long-term production planning efforts

Required Education/Skills:

  • 2–5+ years of experience in production scheduling or manufacturing planning (heavy manufacturing preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, preferred.
  • Experience in pipe manufacturing or water/wastewater infrastructure products is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera (P6) including resource loading capabilities.
  • A proficiency in scheduling techniques and principles, including the demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent computer skills and using Microsoft Excel and Word Software.
  • Ability to review and analyze schedules and changes to determine the impact on a project.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
