Job Description
The University of Pittsburgh Department of Surgery, Division of Endocrine Surgical Oncology has an immediate opening for a fellowship trained, board certified /board eligible surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor, non-tenure stream, for an established academic group with a large residency and fellowship training programs, with an advanced endocrine surgical oncology practice and.
The successful Candidate will practice as an endocrine surgical oncology surgeon in a dual capacity within UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, to include clinical, research, and teaching responsibilities. He/she will participate in outreach efforts for the division, expanding inpatient and outpatient activities at locations within the UPMC service area. As a faculty member, the successful Candidate will actively participate in the research and educational mission of the Department of Surgery in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Prior clinical experience in an academic institution is strongly desirable. Skills and interest in specialized areas of endocrine surgical oncology care and development of clinical centers of excellence are welcome. The ideal Candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum Education Requirements: M.D.; Field of Study: Medicine
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Demonstrated excellent clinic outcomes
- Experience as a teacher or mentor of medical students and residents
- Demonstrated excellent clinic outcomes
- Qualified for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
General rank requirements: An assistant professor should have demonstrated teaching ability, experience in advanced study and research, or professional experience of a kind which would enable them to make an academic contribution.
