Supports method verification/validation, instrument qualification, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements:

Key Duties:

  • Keep instruments in a verified, calibrated, and fit-for-use state; promptly flag/resolve issues.
  • Maintain chain-of-custody, sample integrity, and confidentiality throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Contribute to method verification/validation, proficiency testing/ILC participation, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform testing (e.g. residual solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, micro, mycotoxins, moisture/water activity) following approved methods and safety procedures.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments; execute IQC/OC checks, system suitability, blanks, spikes, duplicates, and control charts; document any nonconforming work.
  • Process and review data in LIMS/e-records with full audit trail; apply calculations, units, rounding, and significant figures per SOP.
  • Calculate/confirm measurement results against acceptance criteria; initiate clarifications or retests when required.
  • Draft clear, complete technical records and contribute to reports/COAs; submit for technical and QA review per QMS.
  • Participate in method verification/validation/transfer tasks (accuracy, precision, linearity, recovery, LOD/LOQ, robustness); compile raw data and summary reports.
  • Perform daily/weekly instrument checks, preventative maintenance, calibrations, and verify traceability of reference standards/CRMs.
  • Escalate equipment/data issues; open deviations, support root-cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
  • Maintain good laboratory housekeeping, EHS compliance, chemical hygiene, and proper waste management.
  • Complete training and competence sign-offs before performing regulated tasks; keep training current.

Job requirements:

Education / Certification:

  • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (MS preferred for senior levels); in lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025, data integrity (ALCOA+), and LIMS/e-records.

Technical Experience/Knowledge:

  • Operation of ICP-MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, (mix depends on lab scope).
  • Solid wet-chemistry and sample-prep skills (extractions, dilutions, filtration, digestion).
  • Understanding of method performance characteristics (LOD/LOQ, MU basics, accuracy/precision).
  • Proficient with Excel and basic statistics; able to interpret control charts and spike recoveries
  • High attention to detail, documentation rigor, and time management.
