Position Summary

DeWys Metal Solutions is a people-first, family-owned contract manufacturer where real people are doing big things. The company reinvests a significant percentage of its profits into leadership development, innovation, capital equipment, and its workforce. Serving blue-chip customers across uniquely diverse industries, none of it automotive, DeWys has built a reputation that consistently impresses customers, employees, and industry partners alike. The business is financially strong, growth-oriented, and grounded by a strategic planning process that is both active and collaborative, built from the top down and the bottom up. Lean manufacturing, innovation, workforce development, and strong community partnerships are not buzzwords here, they are the foundation of how the company operates. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids, this is an opportunity to join a manufacturing organization that is investing aggressively in its future while remaining deeply committed to its people and culture.

The Point Person is responsible for supporting daily production activity during their assigned shift within a designated area of the shop. This role serves as a hands-on frontline leader focused on maintaining a safe, productive, and organized work environment while supporting a small team of up to 14 operators. The primary function of the Point Person is to keep production moving by proactively removing roadblocks, coordinating workflow, and ensuring operators have the tools, materials, and support needed to succeed.

This role requires a visible, highly engaged leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and leads from the floor by example. The ideal candidate is organized, solutions-oriented, and approachable, capable of balancing urgency with attention to detail while building trust and accountability within the team. The Point Person will facilitate regular 1:1 meetings with operators, support continuous improvement efforts, and play an important role in preserving the culture, safety standards, and people-first values that make DeWys unique.
