Job Description
Job Title: HAAS CNC Mill Operator – 1st Shift
Compensation: $24.00 – $32.00 per hour DOE
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Overtime: Earlier start times and mandatory Saturday overtime may be required based on business needs
HAAS CNC Mill Operator Job Summary:
The HAAS CNC Mill Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring HAAS vertical milling machines used to machine metal components to precise specifications. This position requires strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC milling operations, blueprint reading, tool offsets, inspections, and maintaining production quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate HAAS CNC milling machines according to setup sheets, blueprints, and work instructions
• Load raw materials and unload finished components while maintaining production flow
• Install and change tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets as needed
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Accurately complete production documentation and inspection records
• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards
• Communicate production or quality concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel promptly
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of CNC milling experience preferred, specifically with HAAS machines
• Experience with machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, and offsets required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of machining processes, feeds, speeds, and tolerances
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately
• Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions
• Ability to perform metric-to-inch conversions
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the duration of the workday
• Ability to work independently and maintain consistent production quality
