Overview

Being good neighbors – helping people, investing in our communities, and making the world a better place – is who we are at State Farm. It is at the core of how we operate and the reason for our success. We're moving with urgency to become a Next Gen Good Neighbor, with technology that strengthens human connections and enhances the customer experience. As an employee, you'll spend less time navigating systems and more time applying judgment, empathy, and expertise in the moments that matter most.

Responsibilities

HR&D is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our hiring team. This role is ideal for a skilled recruiter with demonstrated success managing full-cycle recruitment, sourcing passive talent, advising hiring managers, assessing candidates, and closing offers in a competitive labor market. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will use advanced sourcing techniques, recruiting technology, market intelligence, and relationship-building skills to develop strong talent pipelines. You will serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, translating business needs into effective recruiting strategies, and supporting consistent, job-related selection decisions.

On this team, you will join a collaborative, high-performing team committed to making an impact. You will have opportunities to take on challenging work, strengthen your recruiting expertise, and use market-leading sourcing tools.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for multiple requisitions, including kickoff, sourcing, screening, interview planning, candidate selection, offer negotiation, and hiring.
  • Lead kickoff meetings with hiring managers to define position requirements, candidate profiles, sourcing strategies, interview processes, and recruiting timelines.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, Boolean searches, social media, employee referrals, professional networks, and direct outreach.
  • Conduct structured candidate screens to evaluate skills, experience, career interests, compensation expectations, and alignment with position requirements.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to hiring leaders by providing guidance on talent availability, labor-market conditions, interview practices, candidate assessment, and selection decisions.
  • Build and maintain active and passive candidate pipelines, with a focus on reaching qualified talent from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through timely, transparent communication, relationship management, and effective offer negotiation and closing.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and use metrics—including time to fill, pipeline conversion, source effectiveness, and offer acceptance—to evaluate and improve recruiting results.

Qualifications
  • At least three years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, including sourcing, screening, candidate assessment, hiring-manager consultation, and offer management.
  • Demonstrated success identifying and engaging passive candidates through direct sourcing, Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, resume databases, social media, referrals, and professional networks.
  • Experience managing multiple requisitions and candidate pipelines simultaneously while meeting hiring deadlines and maintaining a high level of candidate service.
  • Strong knowledge of talent acquisition practices, including position intake, sourcing strategy, structured interviewing, candidate evaluation, selection, and closing.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and serve as a consultative recruiting partner to hiring managers and business leaders.
  • Strong candidate-assessment and negotiation skills, including the ability to identify candidate motivations, present evidence-based recommendations, address concerns, and support offer acceptance.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, sourcing platforms, recruiting technology, and talent acquisition metrics; experience using data to improve pipeline health and recruiting outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project-management skills, along with knowledge of fair, consistent, and legally compliant recruiting practices.

Work Arrangement and Eligibility

  • This is a hybrid position. The selected candidate will be assigned to a State Farm facility and will work in the office up to 50% of the time according to business needs and company guidelines. Hybrid arrangements may be subject to change based on business needs.
  • Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity.

Incumbency

This position will have a 12-month incumbency period for a lateral move and a 6-month incumbency period for a promotional opportunity (beginning on the effective date of the position) which must be met before the employee can post for any other State Farm position. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.
