About Coastal Kids Home Care
Coastal Kids Home Care is a nonprofit delivering the most comprehensive home-based pediatric care in California, tailored to the needs of local families and communities. We offer:
- Skilled nursing and shift care
- Physical and occupational therapies
- Social work and care management
- Home-based palliative and end-of-life care
- Mental health counseling
By bringing expert care into the home, Coastal Kids improves children’s quality of life, supports caregivers, strengthens family wellbeing, and offers a more cost-effective alternative to repeated hospital stays.
CKHC Pediatric Palliative program offers expressive therapies to children living with life limiting conditions in the comfort of their home. Our music therapists play an important role in our patient’s quality of life, playing music, singing songs and teaching musical instruments. Music allows for diversion, brings solace and allows for relaxation children need who are medically fragile. To offer the best patient-centered care our music therapists work on our palliative care team of social workers, other expressive therapists, and nurses. As a music therapist with CKHC you would provide services to children aged 0-21. Our contracted music therapists have complete autonomy regarding their schedule, as they drive to and from patients’ homes. Our music therapist will also have a unique opportunity to work with children and families during the end-of-life. Children on our palliative care program can receive up to 4 sessions (of any type of expressive therapist) per month.
