Job Description

THE THEODORE ROOSEVELT PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY FOUNDATION

Remote Major Gifts Officer

Remote, US

Theodore Roosevelt was not a spectator.

He believed in the strenuous life: in taking risks, accepting responsibility, pursuing big ideas, and having the courage to act. He was a president, explorer, conservationist, writer, reformer, and relentless force for change. More than a century later, his example still asks a powerful question: What will you do with your time in the arena?

For more than a decade, we have been building a Library worthy of that question.

And there was no more fitting place to build it than Medora, North Dakota, the rugged Badlands community where Roosevelt found adventure, built a ranching life, and forged the connection to the land that would shape his conservation legacy. Today, that landscape remains an essential part of his story.

Now open in Medora, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is a one-of-a-kind expression of that legacy. Designed by the internationally acclaimed Swedish architecture firm Snøhetta, the Library is a monument to Roosevelt’s enduring spirit and his conservation ethic. Its state-of-the-art, sustainable building reflects a commitment to stewardship and bold thinking, while its progressive, technology-driven museum uses immersive storytelling and interactive experiences to bring Roosevelt’s life and ideas into the present.

This is not a monument meant simply to look backward. It is a place designed to make history matter—to invite people to explore Roosevelt’s story, wrestle with the questions he confronted, and consider what his example asks of them today.

Roosevelt challenged people to dare greatly, think boldly, care deeply, and live passionately. The Library carries that spirit forward, inspiring people to participate, lead, and step into the arena themselves.

This is more than a presidential library. It is a people’s library—built to inspire action.
