Job Description
Plymouth Tube is seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) professional to join our team and support our operations in the Northwest Territories. This position will play a key role in promoting a strong culture of environmental stewardship, workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
The EHS professional will work closely with employees, leadership, contractors, and regulatory agencies to identify and mitigate workplace and environmental risks, maintain compliance with applicable requirements, coordinate permitting and reporting activities, and deliver effective safety and environmental training.

The position supports mills in Maryland, Mississippi, Wisconsin, and Kentucky and requires regular travel. Candidates located near our Warrenville, IL corporate office and/or Chicago O’Hare International Airport are preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will provide full time environmental health and safety support to the operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with Northwest Territories regulatory requirements. The position will be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and its permitting applications. Support the development and coordination of training programs for EHS. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating programs to create a “zero injury” culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Environmental:
•Compiles and submits logs as required by regulatory agencies.
•Keeps managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, and any other hazardous substances.
•Identifies and analyzes sources of pollution to determine their effects on plant operations.
•Collects and synthesizes data derived from pollution emission measurements, radiation monitoring & compliance, atmospheric monitoring, meteorological and mineralogical information, and soil or water samples.
•Determines the needs for environmental permits and makes proper permit applications.
•Reviews technical aspects of environmental project, confers with project engineers to formulate plans, coordinate project activities, establish reporting procedures and prepare environmental project progress reports.
•Coordinates planning, testing, and operating phases to complete project.
•Confers with local regulatory agencies to discover local environmental quality standards, industrial practices, and new developments in pollution abatement.
•Works with State and Federal environmental agencies to provide all required reports.
•Maintains required licensing for operation of environmental control equipment
•Provides technical assistance to agencies conducting related environmental studies.
•Responsible for Waste Water on site.
Safety:
•Leads collaborative efforts to develop and implement health and safety procedures and programs to improve health and safety culture, reduce injuries and liability, and ensure regulatory compliance to all regulatory agencies.
•Participates in the Safety and Environmental Orientation for new hires.
•Schedules and conducts health and safety training and maintain training records and materials.
•Develop accident prevention and loss control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies, evaluates effectiveness and recommends corrective actions
•Maintain liaison with outside organizations, such as fire departments, hospitals, and rescue teams to assure information exchange and assistance
•Devise methods to evaluate safety program and conduct evaluations
•Maintain active role in industrial/ community safety awareness groups and associations
•Collects and provides data required by PTC, OSHA, and any other related governmental agencies
•Represents the organization in community or industry environmental groups and programs.
•Perform other duties and assignments as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Safety related field preferred.
•Must possess or be able to obtain a Waste Water Class B Certification
•Environmental Reporting Experience with Air, Waste Water, Storm Water & Waste
•Hazmat operator’s certification 40+ hours, First Aid required.
•4-5 years minimum work experience in a manufacturing facility.

•EHS Excellence: Drives improvements in EHS culture in organization. Maintains necessary records, testing, sampling and training to comply with OSHA, IDEM and Plymouth Tube requirements. Holds accountable all managers for improvements in Environmental. Noticeably present in all facilities to assist in coaching and counseling appropriate behaviors to improve safety and environmental performance
