Job Description
Mechanical knowledge / aptitude is required for this position.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Location: In-person in Newington, CT
SUMMARYResponsible for assisting in the setup, production, quality checks and operation of envelope machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the setup on machines in a timely manner. Clean machine prior to setups and during downtime.
- Assist the adjuster during downtime to help minimize downtime. This is performed after housekeeping has been done.
- Perform quality checks per our SOP and work instructions to ensure dimensions and overall quality of piece is maintained during the production run.
- Hand-gather finished work and pack as necessary.
- Perform other department operations as required.
- Keep immediate work area neat and orderly.
- Comply with company rules and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
- Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
- Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
- Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools
- Positive attitude and aptitude in learning and retaining knowledge that is trained
- Ability to assist in performing minor machine repairs and PMs.
- Ability to apply written instructions to machine operation and product quality
- Good math skills
- Reliability through attendance, punctuality and attention to work station
- Demonstrates positive safety attitude
