We're currently seeking experienced and caring individuals to join our team as Kitchen Assistants. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will assist in the overall management of day-to-day operations of all food preparation and cooking in the kitchen.

What You’ll Do:

Cutting fruits/Vegetables and helping in the preparation of Hot lunches and daily food productionReceiving and storage of deliveries as related to the commissary kitchenEffective storage, management, and safe rotation (FIFO) of all productsEnsure safe food storage and disposal, including taking daily logs of food temperature, sanitizer temperature, and refrigerator/freezer temperatures. Following the FIFO (First in First Out) rule and rotating inventory as required. Complies with all health and hygiene requirements under all food safety and handling legislation. Follows proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware after collection from classroomsAssists kitchen operations, including scheduled cleaning and sanitizing of appliances, counters, cupboards, and drawers. Required to prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events from time to time. Ad hoc duties may be assigned. Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time depending on the needs of the commissary.

Who You Are

Required:

Valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract.

Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments.Ability to push, pull and lift to 45 pounds Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively.
