Position Information


UC Riverside's Transportation & Parking Services is recruiting for an Adjudication Officer position. The full salary range for the Adjudication Officer is $57,700 - $99,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $78,500 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Under general supervision, the Adjudication Officer supports Transportation Services by managing the first-level parking citation appeals process and related citation resolution activities. The incumbent interprets and applies University, departmental, state, and local parking policies, procedures, regulations, codes, and ordinances to review citation appeals, determine appropriate outcomes, and communicate decisions clearly and professionally to students, faculty, staff, visitors, vendors, departments, and members of the public. The position is responsible for processing and researching parking citations, adjudicating first-level appeals, supporting second- and third-level appeal processes, maintaining accurate citation records, coordinating DMV and other external entity processes related to unpaid violations, and preparing citation, appeal, payment, and financial reports. The incumbent ensures citation information is accurately recorded in department systems, researches customer and vehicle information using University and external databases, verifies citation payments and balances due, identifies payment or record discrepancies, and supports the reconciliation and reporting of citation-related revenue, including Riverside County and DMV-related financial reporting. The Adjudication Officer also provides customer service and policy guidance regarding parking citations, permits, permit eligibility, payments, refunds, alternative transportation programs, and Transportation Services procedures. The incumbent performs permit sales and transaction support in a high-volume service environment, including cash, credit card, web, refund, payroll deduction, student account, and departmental permit-related transactions. The role provides limited support for alternative transportation programs and assists with parking operations, facility-related concerns, data analysis, reports, special projects, and process improvement efforts.Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Working knowledge of parking operations; policies and procedures.

Proficient in operation of web-based parking related systems and office software.
Proficient in determining parking facility requirements and maintenance programs.

Ability to support presentations, outreach events, and informational activities for Transportation Services programs.
Ability to operate or learn to operate University vehicles, two-way radios, standard office equipment, parking systems, and related tools.
