Help Build High-Performing Clinical Teams at EPIC HealthAt EPIC Health, we believe exceptional patient care starts with exceptional training. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Trainer to support onboarding, development, and performance across our clinic teams.
This role will be based at our HQ in Southfield and float between multiple EPIC Health locations throughout Metro Detroit, providing hands-on training and support for new and existing staff. The ideal candidate has a strong clinical operations background, enjoys teaching and mentoring others, and thrives in fast-paced healthcare environments.
The Clinical Trainer will play a key role in standardizing workflows, improving staff confidence, and ensuring team members are fully equipped to deliver outstanding patient care and operational excellence.
What You'll DoTraining & Staff Development- Train and onboard new Medical Assistants, Medical Receptionists, and other clinic support staff.
- Provide hands-on instruction on clinical workflows, patient intake, rooming procedures, scheduling, documentation, and operational processes.
- Reinforce EPIC Health standards for patient experience, efficiency, and compliance.
- Conduct refresher training and support continuous staff development initiatives.
- Train staff on EHR workflows and documentation processes, including Athena EHR usage and best practices.
- Ensure employees understand clinic procedures, scheduling systems, patient flow expectations, and operational protocols.
- Assist with workflow standardization across clinic locations.
- Float between multiple clinic locations to provide in-person training and operational support.
- Partner with Practice Managers and leadership teams to identify training needs and performance gaps.
- Support the rollout of new workflows, initiatives, and operational changes.
- Ensure training aligns with HIPAA requirements, safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Monitor employee progress and provide feedback, coaching, and additional support as needed.
- Help maintain consistency and accountability across all clinic teams.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Clinical Lead, Office Coordinator, or similar healthcare role.
- Strong understanding of outpatient clinic workflows and patient care processes.
- Experience using Athena EHR required.
- Willingness and ability to travel between multiple EPIC Health clinic locations throughout Metro Detroit.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous training, onboarding, classroom instruction, or staff development experience strongly preferred.
- Experience training or mentoring Medical Assistants, front desk staff, or other clinical support teams.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Passion for teaching, coaching, and developing others.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt training styles to different learning needs.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced clinical environments.
