We're looking for an experienced Senior Survey Party Chief who enjoys leading crews, solving problems in the field, and delivering accurate work that keeps projects moving.

For decades, Ralph L. Wadsworth has built highways, bridges, rail systems, water infrastructure, and large-scale earthwork projects across the western United States.

Our survey teams play a critical role on every one of those projects.

As a Senior Party Chief, you'll:

1. Lead survey crews on large Heavy Civil construction projects throughout the Lubbock area.
2. Work with modern GPS, Total Station, and machine control technology.
3. Partner directly with Superintendents, Engineers, and Project Managers.
4. Make decisions in the field and be trusted to lead your crew.

As the Senior Survey Party Chief, you'll lead field survey operations while ensuring projects are built accurately, efficiently, and safely.

Responsibilities include:

1. Lead and supervise field survey crews on Heavy Civil construction projects.
2. Perform construction layout, topographic surveys, right-of-way surveys, and quantity calculations.
3. Calculate lines, grades, elevations, and field measurements.
4. Maintain and verify GPS machine control systems.
5. Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Engineers, and Project Managers.
6. Schedule and oversee multiple survey crews across active projects.
7. Prepare and maintain survey documentation and field data.
8. Verify as-built conditions and project quantities.
9. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot survey equipment.
10. Download and process electronic survey data.
11. Review all field work for accuracy before project delivery.
12. Mentor and develop Survey Technicians and Survey Trainees.

We're looking for someone who enjoys leading from the field and takes ownership of delivering accurate work.

You'll be a great fit if you have:

1. 5+ years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or Senior Surveyor in Heavy Civil Construction.
2. Experience leading field survey crews.
3. Strong knowledge of construction layout, grading, earthwork, and right-of-way surveying.
4. Experience using GPS, Total Stations, electronic levels, and data collection systems.
5. Experience with machine control and GPS verification.
6. Proficiency with drafting or survey software.
7. Strong communication and leadership skills.
8. A valid driver's license.

Experience with Leica survey equipment is a plus.
