Headquarters in Durango, Colorado, with operations expanding into Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Seattle, Washington, Agile has posted more than 40% year-over-year growth for three years running, with no signs of slowing down.

We're looking for bold, hands-on leaders who wants to help write the next chapter of space history. This isn't a role for the faint of heart or managing from a distance, you'll be in the thick of driving next generation hardware development and delivery for critical space missions headed to the moon, multiple orbits, and enabling some of the most demanding missions flying as well as in concept. As an integral contributor during our growth stage, you'll be eligible to participate in our stock option plan, sharing directly in the value you help create. All stock grants are subject to executive review and approval under the Company's equity plan.

The Role

Agile Space Industries designs, manufactures, tests, and delivers advanced rocket propulsion systems. We are seeking a solutions oriented leader of execution that delivers complex hardware programs from initial concept through qualification and production, and customer satisfaction, a role with real scope, impact and visibility, reporting directly to the COO.

This is a chance to lead the team responsible for turning ambitious propulsion programs into flight-ready hardware while balancing a challenging environment of product maturation and delivery. The role is a blend of senior leadership and rolling up your sleeves to get customers problems solved by working with leadership in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Test, Finance, Contracts, and Business Development.

The product portfolio includes:

  • New Product Development; driving development of solutions across design, manufacturing, and testing
  • Production Delivery; delivery with predictable cost, quality, throughput, and rapid on-time delivery.

The Director of Program Delivery owns balancing product maturity with Engineering while accountable for being the driving energy to meet program schedule, customer commitments, , and financial outcomes.

This role is onsite in Durango, CO where over 85% of the Agile Team is located. Relocation benefits available.

Responsibilities:

Delivery Office Team Leadership

  • Has agility to navigate the ambiguity and changing priorities of a rapidly growing small business where processes are constantly being outgrown and translating that into clear and consistent direction to the team is critical
  • Lead and develop a team of 10+ project management professionals who drive delivery, adherence to company values and build communication tools to streamline information flow for company effectiveness.
  • Establish consistent methods, metrics, review cadences, and escalation processes with a bias that uses information to drive outcomes, not reporting.
  • Balance priorities and resources across development and production programs.
  • Establish systems that streamline informative portfolio updates covering schedule, cost, maturity, production readiness, risk, and financial performance.

New Product Development and Delivery

  • Lead project managers responsible for driving development of products based on internal and customer requirements through design, qualification, production, acceptance, and delivery.
  • Accountable for customer satisfaction, schedule, cost, engineering, inequality, and contractual milestones.
  • Drive delivery team clarity in high-paced and challenging development environment to deliver on schedule while resolving the challenges of product development.
  • Establish and maintain plans harmonizing engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, inspection, testing, and delivery.

Production Delivery

  • Lead delivery on production programs with responsibility for cost, schedule, quality, throughput, and delivery.
  • Work with the factory management team to establish delivery plans based on demand, material availability, manufacturing capacity, testing capacity, and labor.

Customer and Commercial Management

  • Serve as a senior customer-facing leader during the delivery stage, providing clear and proactive communication on milestones, hardware status, risks, decisions, and recovery plans.
  • Partner with Business Development, Contracts, Finance, Engineering, and Operations to create executable proposals and program baselines.

Risk, Quality, and Compliance

  • Actively drive delivery risk burndown across technical, schedule, cost, supply-chain, production, test, and customer risk and opportunity management framework.
  • Support compliance with AS9100, NASA, Department of Defense, commercial space, and customer-specific requirements.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, Program Management, or a related field.
  • Fifteen or more years of experience in complex hardware development, manufacturing, or program management, including proven success delivering multi-million-dollar programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing new product development programs and taking products from development into full-rate production.
  • Strong understanding of the hardware lifecycle, including requirements, design, procurement, manufacturing, inspection, testing, qualification, and delivery.
  • Experience managing integrated schedules, budgets, risks, forecasts, and customer commitments.
  • Proven leadership across cross-functional engineering and operations teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Test, Finance, Contracts, Business Development, with strong executive and customer-facing communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Delivery of highly technical, mission-critical hardware related to the space industry.
  • Strong understanding of project forecasting and finance.
  • AS9100-certified quality systems.
  • ITAR, EAR, and controlled government information environments.
  • PMP or similar certification nice to have

Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $180,000 – $220,000 annually. The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
