Position Summary

Quest International is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment at hospitals, laboratories, industrial facilities, and other customer locations.

This is a travel-intensive field position—not a remote IT-support or help-desk role. The technician must be comfortable working independently, communicating with customers, and completing accurate service documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs using approved procedures and diagnostic tools.
  • Diagnose failures involving FRUs, modules, circuit boards, power supplies, sensors, motors, wiring, cables, connectors, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Read and follow service manuals, diagrams, SOPs, safety requirements, and customer-site procedures.
  • Verify equipment operation after repairs and escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
  • Complete accurate service reports, work orders, test results, parts records, photographs, and customer updates.
  • Coordinate travel, customer appointments, tools, documentation, and changing service assignments.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, technical support, service leadership, and Quest teams.
Required Qualifications
  • At least one year of professional hands-on experience in field service, equipment repair, industrial maintenance, electronics, automotive diagnostics, appliance repair, medical equipment, or another electro-mechanical role.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Professional experience using a digital multimeter.
  • Experience troubleshooting or replacing FRUs, modules, boards, power supplies, wiring, connectors, harnesses, sensors, motors, or assemblies.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, service procedures, and safety instructions.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
  • Ability to meet applicable work-related vehicle and insurance requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight travel, early departures, late returns, and changing schedules.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on field work, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Compensation expectations within the approved $24.00–$29.00 hourly range.
  • Willingness to accept full-time, temp-to-hire employment and complete the Human Performance Test.
Windows and Networking Requirements

Candidates must be comfortable using:

  • Windows 10 and Windows 11
  • File and folder management
  • Task Manager and Event Viewer
  • Command Prompt or PowerShell
  • ping, ipconfig, and tracert
  • Static IP and DHCP settings
  • IP address, subnet, gateway, DNS, and network-adapter settings
  • Remote Desktop or approved remote-support tools
  • Electronic service reports, photographs, manuals, and diagnostic files
Preferred Experience

Medical, diagnostic, laboratory, industrial, professional A/V, optical, manufacturing, or OEM equipment service; BMET, electronics, electrical, automotive, aviation, robotics, mechatronics, or military technical training; and experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, cable testers, pressure meters, vacuum meters, or comparable diagnostic equipment.

Benefits

Benefit programs may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and supplemental insurance options. Eligibility and effective dates depend on employment status and applicable plan terms.

Equal Employment Opportunity

Quest International is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are based on job-related qualifications, demonstrated experience, business requirements, and the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
