Job Description
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.85B+ from the world’s top investors — including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock — and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.
About the role
Rippling AI helps businesses manage HR, IT, Finance, and Payroll, not by generating plausible responses, but by writing real queries against live data, showing its work, and taking real action on behalf of customers. The hard problem now is making it trivially easy for each Rippling product team to endow Rippling Ai with new capabilities, and scaling our autonomous solutions to customers of all sizes.
In this role, you will own the platform layer that powers everything the AI Assistant can do: the frameworks product teams use to add new capabilities, the orchestration and routing layer that selects the right tools and models, and the economics of every query. You'll partner with the AI platform engineering team to turn Rippling AI into a platform that autonomously completes back office work for our customers.
What you will do- Own the AI Platform roadmap related to the most customer-facing surfaces, including maturing our chat experience on web and mobile, building our desktop app, and exploring other new surfaces.
- Make it trivially easy for any Rippling product team to ship consistent AI experiences by partnering with 10+ product teams across Rippling and developing standard AI design patterns across the platform.
- Work closely with our embedded AI growth team to identify the highest-value experiences to grow AI discovery and usage across all Rippling products.
- Define the user experience for how humans and Rippling AI collaborate to get work done, from human-in-the-loop handoff points, to agent auditability, to customer-defined agent configuration.
You could be especially well-suited for this role if you have the following experiences:
- 8+ years in product management, with at least 2 years shipping LLM-powered or conversational AI products to production, at scale.
- Exceptional design judgement: your design partners would describe you as a design peer, and your innate eye for intuitive UX makes you obsess over every detail in end-to-end flows.
- Strong opinions on cost, latency, and quality tradeoffs in AI systems: you've managed the economics of inference at scale.
- Customer-facing B2B SaaS experience: you frequently speak to companies to learn about their pain points and build valuable solutions, and you understand the enterprise buyer persona deeply enough to know what to build for buyers versus end users.
- Track record of building platform-level tooling that other teams adopt: you know how to design good abstractions and reduce adoption friction.
- Bias towards action and full ownership of your product's success: you know how to find beta customers in a heartbeat, can write evals in your sleep, and can generate prototypes/mocks when needed to quickly align teams before executing.
- Strong alignment with Rippling's leadership principles, particularly "Push the limits of possible" and "Go and see".
If you don't necessarily meet all of these requirements, we still encourage you to apply. Skills transfer in unexpected ways, and diverse perspectives often lead to the most innovative solutions.
