What's the Job?
We're looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead, develop, and inspire a team of Commercial Insurance Producers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role is responsible for driving team performance, developing producers through structured coaching, and ensuring consistent execution against agency sales goals.
Success in this role requires a leader who thrives in an environment built around accountability, continuous improvement, and measurable results. You'll partner closely with the VP of Sales to execute sales strategy, build scalable coaching processes, and create a culture where producers are empowered to succeed while maintaining a relentless focus on performance.
Lead a High-Performing Sales Team
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 20–25 Commercial Insurance Producers.
- Conduct structured team meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews to drive accountability and professional growth.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented culture while maintaining high performance expectations.
- Address performance concerns through coaching, development plans, and performance management when necessary.
Drive Sales Performance
- Ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds sales goals, conversion metrics, and premium growth targets.
- Monitor producer pipelines, activity metrics, and CRM reporting to proactively identify coaching opportunities and remove roadblocks.
- Partner with the VP of Sales to develop and execute sales strategies that accelerate agency growth.
- Support producers throughout the sales process, including quoting, coverage presentations, negotiations, and closing business.
- Drive urgency across the sales organization by maintaining strong pipeline discipline and timely follow-up.
Improve Operations & Compliance
- Ensure producers follow agency procedures, documentation standards, and CRM best practices.
- Monitor compliance with carrier guidelines and Department of Insurance requirements.
- Partner with Operations and Training teams to continuously improve sales processes and producer onboarding.
- Utilize reporting and performance dashboards to make data-driven decisions that improve team effectiveness.
Support Customer & Market Growth
- Assist producers with escalated client, broker, or carrier conversations.
- Identify opportunities to expand Trucker Path Insurance's presence within the commercial trucking market.
- Champion an exceptional customer experience throughout every stage of the sales process.
What’s the work location?
You'll be based in Park Circle - North Charleston's go-to neighborhood for great food, local businesses, and community energy. You’ll work in-office five days a week ensuring you have ongoing in the moment coahcing with the team. Our standard office hours are weekdays from 9am - 5pm.
Requirements:What are We Looking For?
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license in applicable agency states.
- 5 – 7 years of insurance sales experience.
- 2 – 3+ years of sales leadership or management experience preferred.
- 3 – 5 years of commercial trucking or transportation insurance experience required.
- Experience leading mid-to-large sales teams (15+ direct reports) preferred.
- Proven success coaching producers to achieve and exceed sales goals.
- Strong understanding of sales pipeline management, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
- Comfortable leveraging CRM platforms, reporting tools, and sales technology to drive performance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth organization with ambitious goals.
- Confident making difficult performance management decisions while maintaining a positive team culture.
