Turn your passion for youth mentorship into a career!! We’re looking for a dynamic Youth Achievement Director to champion youth success for middle and high schoolers in the IL Quad Cities.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This position is responsible for youth achievement and mentoring programs areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and schools. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Manages the program, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program; securing and scheduling the needed facilities; and creating and scheduling the classes, activities or events.
- Ensures program participants safety and wellbeing at all times, by meeting their individual education, developmental, protective and nurturing needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for supervising program participants, and be a primary responder in the event of an emergency. Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training, reviewing, rewarding, disciplining and supervision of program staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- One year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Current CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certifications, ARC preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance
- Minimum age of 21.
- Within 90 days of hire, completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and Harassment trainings.
- YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.
- Position requires both indoor and outdoor activities, in various weather conditions.
- Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
- Starting Salary Range: $41,719 to $44,000
