Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will develop new products, processes, machinery, and equipment for packaging applications.
Essential Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Managing projects from initial design concept through production, ensuring project objectives are met.
2. Supporting business development with Sales, by working directly with customer, engineering & internal/external manufacturing teams to develop & specify the product.
3. Completing & releasing product designs (models & drawings) which meet customer requirements and internal best practices, into internal and customer CAD systems.
4. Becoming a subject matter expert to provide exceptional customer support & robust designs through continuous improvement.
5. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, communicating project status to critical project stakeholders, and escalating concerns when appropriate.
6. Maintaining accurate product development records.
7. Working with project team to develop and update documentation per customer requirements striving to exceed customer’s expectations.
8. Traveling as required to interface with customer engineering and manufacturing bases.
Work Environment:
This is a professional environment and the role carried out will regularly utilize computers and multiline phones. Employees will regularly be in a temperature-controlled office unless on the Production floor. Employees may be asked to travel with a Regional Sales Manager to customer sites and to support Distributors.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The Mechanical Engineer will regularly need to talk and hear, sit, stand, move and carry items up to 20 pounds as well as use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands and lift.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Travel will add additional hours and days.
Skills:
1. Demonstrates expertise in technical support to customers and sales reps with strong mechanical skills.
2. Assumes responsibility for small to medium scale projects with minimal supervision.
3. CRM, Inventor, or equivalent.
4. Advanced Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
5. Excellent customer interaction abilities.
6. Effective written and oral communication skills which include listening and asking appropriate questions to meet or exceed customer expectations.
7. Ability to travel when needed.
8. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
9. Servo and AC motor sizing
10. Gearbox sizing
11. Pneumatic sizing; cylinders and components
12. Design for Manufacturing
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
Post Secondary education or on the job management experience preferred.
5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire.
