This role is centered on data migration, transformation, and modernization initiatives within complex legacy-to-target data environments. You will play a key part in designing and executing end-to-end data pipelines that ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will translate business and domain rules into scalable data structures while supporting critical decisions related to architecture and migration strategy. The position requires strong analytical thinking to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and data quality issues during AS-IS to TO-BE transitions. You will also contribute to defining validation frameworks, reconciliation processes, and data governance practices. This is a high-impact role where your work directly enables the success of large-scale digital transformation programs.

Accountabilities:

Lead the understanding, preparation, transformation, loading, and validation of data from legacy systems into new target models, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout migration processes.
Map existing data entities, fields, and relationships (such as users, subscriptions, dependents, and payments) and define AS-IS vs TO-BE models, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and required transformations.
Design and execute data extraction, cleansing, normalization, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes for large-scale data migration initiatives.
Develop scripts, validation rules, execution logs, volume checks, and reconciliation mechanisms to ensure data integrity and traceability across migration flows.
Support data modeling efforts involving complex hierarchies such as partners, companies, beneficiaries, subscriptions, and offerings.
Participate in cutover planning, data freeze strategies, migration windows, and rollback planning to ensure safe and controlled data transitions.
Collaborate closely with backend, architecture, and business teams to translate domain rules into structured and scalable data solutions.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Data Engineer in data migration, integration, or platform modernization projects.
Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, data transformation, data quality, and pipeline design.
Experience handling data extraction from multiple sources such as APIs, dumps, CSVs, or similar formats.
Solid understanding of data validation, reconciliation, logging, traceability, and integrity control in migration contexts.
Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business teams to translate requirements into data structures and solutions.
Hands-on experience with data-heavy environments and complex transformation workflows.
Differentials: experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
