Controller

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Controller in United States.

This role offers an opportunity to take ownership of core accounting and financial operations within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. As Controller, you will oversee financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and compliance while ensuring accuracy and integrity across all accounting processes. You will lead accounting functions, support strategic financial planning, and provide insights that directly influence operational performance and profitability. The position requires a hands-on leader comfortable working across both tactical accounting tasks and higher-level financial analysis. You will collaborate closely with operational teams and external partners to strengthen financial controls and optimize processes. This is a fully remote role suited for a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in dynamic, performance-driven environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage and mentor accounting team members while maintaining strong operational performance and adherence to deadlines.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including P&L reports, to support business decision-making and profitability improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulatory standards, and internal financial controls across all reporting activities.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings through detailed financial analysis and general ledger review.
  • Manage relationships with external financial partners, including banks, auditors, and CPA firms.
  • Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and modeling to guide strategic planning and operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, billing, cash applications, and related financial operations as needed.
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or operational finance roles, ideally within healthcare or insurance environments.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience with accounts receivable, billing, and cash application functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently while leading and supporting a team.
  • Experience handling sensitive financial and insurance-related data is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and families.
  • Paid time off to support rest, recovery, and work-life balance.
  • Company-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage.
  • Voluntary benefits including additional life insurance, accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and pet insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Fully remote work setup with provided equipment and media stipend.
  • Stable and structured environment with opportunities for professional growth.
  • Exposure to a high-volume, performance-driven financial organization.
  • Supportive benefits package designed to enhance financial and personal well-being.
