DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
- Performs a limited number of laboratory analysis and quality control testing following clearly defined preset criteria. Performs venipunctures, micro-collection, blood, specimen collection on inpatients and outpatients. Performs certain clerical and housekeeping functions within the lab. Drug Screen and BAT's.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional/Educational
  - High school diploma or equivalent.
  - Training and experience; PBT (ASCP), or eligible preferred. Otherwise, on the job training.
  - Position knowledge: must be able to perform venipunctures with a high degree of proficiency and micro-sample collection; must be able to perform simple analysis of a repetitive nature following a predetermined procedure; must be able to communicate test results to personnel within and outside the laboratory; must be able to work independently most of the time.
  - Clerical duties include working with computers, FAX machines, telephones.
  - DCFS Mandated Reporter Certification of Completion required.
- Personal
  - Evidence of good health, grooming and professional conduct.
  - Desire and ability to cooperate with and/or under the direction of others.
  - Possesses a sense of responsibility, initiative and honesty.
  - Ability to follow directions accurately.
  - Has the ability to work very closely with all laboratory employees, patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital employees.

Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
