Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Mobile Engineer, Digital Identity in United States.
In this role, you will help design and deliver next-generation mobile identity solutions that enable secure, privacy-preserving digital interactions between individuals, governments, and enterprises. You will work at the intersection of mobile engineering, system design, and customer engagement, supporting public-sector organizations in modernizing how identity is issued and verified. The position blends hands-on Flutter development with technical consulting and real-world deployment responsibilities. You will act as a key technical partner to state government teams, translating complex identity and security requirements into scalable mobile applications. This is a highly impactful, client-facing engineering role with direct influence on national digital identity infrastructure. It is fully remote within the United States and ideal for engineers who thrive in both coding and customer collaboration environments.
In this role, you will lead the development and deployment of secure, privacy-focused mobile applications that support modern digital identity systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external public-sector partners to ensure successful delivery and long-term system reliability. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing production-grade mobile applications using Flutter for iOS and Android platforms.
- Translating customer requirements and regulatory constraints into secure, scalable mobile architectures.
- Partnering with backend engineers, designers, and delivery teams to implement end-to-end identity solutions.
- Acting as a technical advisor to government and enterprise stakeholders on mobile security, identity standards, and best practices.
- Integrating mobile applications with backend identity services, APIs, and cryptographic systems.
- Supporting deployments, debugging, and operational issue resolution in live production environments.
- Contributing to shared cross-platform or Rust-based libraries used across mobile and backend systems.
- Representing the engineering team in customer engagements, pilots, and production rollouts.
This role requires a strong mobile engineering background combined with the ability to work directly with external stakeholders in complex, mission-driven environments. The ideal candidate brings both technical depth and strong communication skills. Key qualifications include:
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping production mobile applications.
- Strong expertise in Flutter development for iOS and Android.
- Proven experience designing mobile architectures and delivering secure, scalable systems.
- Experience integrating mobile apps with backend APIs and services.
- Understanding of mobile security principles such as secure storage, authentication flows, and key management.
- Strong communication and consulting skills with experience working directly with customers or partners.
- Ability to translate complex technical and policy requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Must be based in the United States and comfortable engaging with public-sector stakeholders.
- Bonus: experience with digital identity systems, verifiable credentials, cryptography, Rust, or accessibility standards.
- Fully remote role within the United States with flexible work arrangements.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge digital identity and privacy-preserving technologies.
- High-impact engineering work supporting government and public-sector modernization efforts.
- Direct collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders on real-world deployments.
- Exposure to advanced security, cryptography, and identity systems.
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience and expertise.
