Children's House Operations Manager

  • Position Summary
    • The Children’s House is a 3-Star Quality Rated child care facility associated with St. Joseph’s/Candler. The Children’s House offers programs ranging from infant care to Pre-Kindergarten. Our mission is to promote the healthy growth and development of children and to strengthen and support the families and community.

      The focus of our program is to promote developmentally appropriate learning through respect, diversity, self-esteem and equality in order to prepare our learners for success. We accomplish this vision through cooperation among highly trained co-workers, our children’s families, and the community, in a safe, nurturing environment which provides individualized learning and developmentally appropriate practices.

      We believe that young children learn best through creative, hands-on learning experiences in an environment that fosters curiosity. The Office Assistant provides support to the Director and Teachers helping the children learn to think independently, to problem solve and to use their words to communicate their feelings.

  • Education
    • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) - Required
    • Technical Certificate of Credit in Early Childhood Education or Child Development - Required
    • Technical College Diploma (TCD) in Early Childhood Education or Child Development - Required
      • One of the following is required for each of the requirements above:
        • State approved 40-hour director course; or
        • 40 hours of state approved training which covers administration of early childhood programs and has 5 years’ experience as a program director
    • Associate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field - Preferred
    • BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field - Preferred
  • Experience
    • 5 Years experience as a program director or family child care provider - Required
    • 2 Years managing staff including hiring, scheduling, and providing feedback - Required
    • 3 Years of experience ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations and quality standards - Required
  • License & Certification
    • CPR/First Aid Certification - Required
  • Core Job Functions
    • Center Operations & Child Supervision: Oversee daily Center operations and ensure consistent, high-quality supervision and care of all children, including stepping into classrooms as needed.
    • Regulatory Compliance & Record Management: Ensure all compliance with Georgia licensing regulations, Quality-Rated standards, and all state/federal requirements for child and staff records, health and safety.
    • Staff Leadership, Scheduling, & Development: Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate staff while fostering professional growth and maintaining adequate classroom coverage.
    • Curriculum Oversight & Child Development: Support and monitor staff in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, ensuring assessments are completed on time and used in guided instruction.
    • Family Engagement & Communication: Maintain strong relationships with families through consistent communication, conferences, tours, and timely resolution of concerns.
    • Family Engagement & Communication: Manage supply purchasing, inventory, and operational expenses while adhering to the center’s budget.
    • Program Quality, Nutrition, & Community Presence: Ensure overall program quality, including nutrition compliance (ADA/CACFP), parent communication, and ongoing professional growth.
