Job Description
Floor Tech Supervisor
The Floor Tech Supervisor at Lemontree Healthcare is responsible for overseeing daily floor care operations to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of all flooring throughout the facility. This leadership role supervises floor technicians, coordinates schedules and project work, and ensures compliance with infection prevention, safety, and environmental services standards. The Floor Tech Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, train, and support Floor Technicians in daily floor care operations
- Assign daily work schedules and monitor productivity and work quality
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed
- Ensure staff follow proper floor care procedures, safety standards, and infection control practices
Floor Care Operations
- Oversee floor cleaning, buffing, stripping, waxing, polishing, and maintenance throughout the facility
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of all floor types, including tile, vinyl, terrazzo, and other specialty surfaces
- Assist with floor care duties and special projects as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures related to chemical handling and equipment operation
- Monitor use of PPE and placement of safety signage in work areas
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, environmental standards, and infection prevention protocols
Quality Assurance & Inspections
- Conduct routine inspections of floors and completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify flooring damage, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards and report issues promptly
- Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain departmental cleanliness standards
Equipment & Inventory Management
- Oversee maintenance and proper operation of floor care equipment including buffers, scrubbers, waxers, and vacuums
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and chemicals and coordinate reordering as needed
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of cleaning materials in accordance with safety guidelines
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with Environmental Services leadership and facility departments to coordinate floor care schedules and minimize disruptions
- Communicate cleaning schedules, project updates, and safety precautions to staff and leadership
- Support overall Environmental Services operations and assist with general housekeeping duties as needed
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous floor care or environmental services experience required
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Experience operating commercial floor care equipment strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques, equipment, and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to safely operate and troubleshoot floor care machinery
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional healthcare environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals and equipment
Working Conditions
- Healthcare environment including patient care areas, public spaces, and staff areas
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and equipment noise
- PPE required as appropriate
