Dental Hygienists at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic are vital members of the care team, delivering patient‑centered preventative care while practicing at the top of their licensure. In addition to providing high‑quality clinical services and patient education, hygienists collaborate closely with dental providers and clinic leadership to support efficient clinic operations, promote long‑term oral health, and advance YVFWC’s mission of improving access to care for underserved communities.

Position Highlights:
- EMR system is EPIC
- $41.26-$60.76/hour DOE
- Additional pay for your bilingual skills, paid on hours worked
What You’ll Do:
- Provide preventative periodontal care, including scaling, prophylaxis, root planing, sealants, and application of preventative agents
- Perform expanded functions as permitted by licensure, including placing and carving restorations and managing temporary crowns
- Take and manage dental X‑rays; complete periodontal charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide analgesia as needed
- Educate and counsel patients on oral hygiene and preventative care; develop dental hygiene treatment plans in collaboration with providers
- Assist providers during exams and ensure operatories and instruments meet infection control standards
- Support clinic efficiency, quality initiatives, and compliance with TJC, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program
- OR: Active Dental Hygiene License with Restorative Function Endorsement
- CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at a level 10
- Knowledge of standard dental practices and current hygiene concepts
- Ability to deliver care to patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- High level of manual dexterity and coordination
- Basic computer proficiency (Electronic Dental Records, Outlook, Word, Excel)
