Safeguard Navigator – Part Time 20 Hours a Week

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Fayetteville Cares Director, the Safeguard Navigator is responsible for engaging Veterans and guests experiencing instability by providing intake, support, referrals, follow-up services, and connection to community resources through the Safeguard Veterans initiatives. The Safeguard Navigator helps create a welcoming and supportive environment while assisting guests with next steps related to behavioral health support, VA connections, housing resources, employment opportunities, and other community services. This role is relationship-driven and focused on building trust, encouraging stability, and strengthening community engagement. General Responsibilities: Fayetteville Cares serves as a Day Resource Center focused on providing support to those affected by homelessness, hunger, behavioral health challenges, and the everyday challenges of life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Be a culture carrier of Fayetteville Cares
• Engage Veterans and guests with dignity, respect, and compassion
• Conduct intake, engagement, and follow-up support for guests participating in Safeguard initiatives • Assist guests with connection to community resources including:
? VA enrollment and support services
? behavioral health resources
? housing and shelter referrals
? employment resources
? transportation assistance
• Build relationships with Veterans and guests experiencing instability or crisis
• Assist with emotional regulation and de-escalation support using Safeguard training techniques
• Complete required program documentation, reporting, and data entry in CareConfidence and other required systems
• Collaborate with Fayetteville Cares staff, providers, volunteers, and community partners to support guest next steps
• Participate in Safeguard training, supervision meetings, and required implementation activities
• Assist with outreach and engagement efforts focused on identifying and connecting Veterans to support services
• Support a welcoming, safe, and organized environment within the Day Resource Center
• Network and collaborate with community organizations and Veteran-serving partners

• Temporary Grant-Funded Position
• Compensation: $12.00/hour
