Job Description

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Preservation Technician to join our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for project fixture and millwork repairs. Must be willing to travel to client locations across the US and have experience working in a fast-paced commercial construction industry.

  • Assess damage and carry out preventive maintenance on a range of materials.
  • Removal of finishes to be replaced, and proper application of new finishes.
  • Document completed repairs and materials used for internal reporting or inventory purposes.
  • Read job specs and manage to prescribed scope or work.
  • Job sites require initial prep, cleaning, organized workstations, and proper project close.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed on all job sites.
  • Work both independently and within teams, following OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and management.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area either on-site or in a designated shop.
  • Ensure all restoration work aligns with the company’s aesthetic and quality standards.
  • Representing the company professionally while on client sites.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in premium wood refinishing – or related fields.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial door installation and service preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work overnight as needed.
  • Skilled with tools, power equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs.
  • Effective communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 10 to 12 hours a day, bend, stoop, and safely lift heavy materials.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
