Accountabilities:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of standardized patient billing and collections processes across assigned regions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for billing operations, collections management, and regulatory compliance related to healthcare revenue cycle functions.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance billing efficiency, collections performance, and operational consistency.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with HIPAA regulations, Medicare requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
  • Conduct annual assessments of business office policies, billing systems, and operational procedures for ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Train and support healthcare center teams on best practices related to business office operations, billing systems, and compliance standards.
  • Assist with HIPAA audits, chart audits, statistical reporting, and remediation activities tied to internal compliance initiatives.
  • Evaluate billing and collections systems for potential acquisitions and provide detailed operational assessments and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders while identifying opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and support organizational growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare billing and collections experience, preferably within ambulatory surgery center environments.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, HIPAA compliance, and Medicare billing regulations.
  • Experience assessing and improving billing systems, policies, and operational workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and organizational accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to varied audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience interpreting financial and operational data.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams positively, provide training, and support operational change initiatives.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (up to 50%) and working in a remote, flexible environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
