Field Sales Agronomist

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Field Sales Agronomist in the United States.

This role is a field-facing agronomy and seed sales position focused on driving growth, strengthening grower relationships, and expanding market share for key seed and crop input products. You will act as a technical and commercial expert, supporting growers and local teams with agronomic insights, product recommendations, and sales strategies. The position blends hands-on field engagement with strategic sales execution, requiring strong collaboration with internal FS member companies. You will play a key role in translating agronomic data and product knowledge into practical, profitable solutions for customers. Operating across assigned territories, you will lead grower outreach, training, and market development initiatives. This is a high-impact role for an agronomy professional who thrives in a customer-facing, travel-oriented environment and enjoys driving measurable results in agricultural performance and adoption.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable seed sales growth and increasing market share across assigned territories by executing targeted agronomy and sales strategies. You will serve as a technical advisor and sales leader, supporting growers and FS member companies with product expertise, training, and field-based agronomic guidance.

  • Execute seed sales and marketing strategies to support market growth and customer retention objectives.
  • Lead and conduct field sales calls with targeted growers in coordination with FS member companies.
  • Provide agronomic expertise, product training, and technical support to internal teams and customers.
  • Support the implementation of business plans and sales tools to drive performance and efficiency.
  • Deliver insights on crop performance, competitor products, and agronomic best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote agronomy initiatives and enhance product adoption.
  • Support targeted grower programs designed to increase penetration of FS-supported seed brands.
Requirements

This role requires a strong foundation in agronomy and agricultural sales, combined with the ability to build trusted relationships with growers and internal partners. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and commercially minded, with a proactive approach to field engagement and customer success.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of agricultural sales or agronomy experience, preferably in seed or crop protection.
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Strong understanding of crop production systems, seed products, and agronomic practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage territory activities, and travel extensively (including overnight).
  • Strong business acumen with decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding field conditions, including occasional lifting requirements.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $79,500 to $109,287.50, depending on experience and placement level.
  • Performance-based incentives and bonus opportunities where applicable.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Retirement benefits including a fully funded pension plan and 401(k) with company match.
  • Generous paid time off, holidays, and parental leave for improved work-life balance.
  • Additional protection plans such as disability, accident, and identity theft coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supporting overall well-being.
  • Ongoing training, certification support, and career development opportunities.
