Description: BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Manipulates data using various systems and/or develops reports for operational analysis. Redesigns and/or modifies current reports to better meet the needs of the organization and ensure data reporting integrity as needed. Provides support with performance initiatives and service line profitability. Assists with special projects and financial analyses as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
Degree: Degree in Accounting strongly preferred
License/Certification Required: None
Minimum Work Experience: 5 years of healthcare or related experience required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES- Detail-oriented, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong aptitude to mine data.
- Self starter, having the ability to work with large amounts of data and be able to effectively analyze the data to determine conclusions or next steps.
- Manages multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of billing terminology (i.e., HCPCS, DRG, revenue codes).
- Assists the Director of Business Analytics as requested in collecting and disseminating meaningful and timely operational reports to assist in organization planning. Provides support to decision support and planning activities.
- Maintains contract modeling and cost accounting modules in the decision support system including under payment review and contract models for negotiation.
- Reconciles record counts, dollar amounts imported daily into the decision support system.
- Assists the financial services department with required maintenance of the budget system.
- Participate in regular maintenance & analysis for hospital’s chargemaster.
- Audits records for payment integrity and complete charge capture.
- Performs claim denial research and tracking, provides denial rebuttal support.
- Designs and develops reports for operations analysis.
- Utilizes external and internal databases with accuracy and integrity and completes required external surveys.
- Assists with quantitative and qualitative analyses to measure and quantify the effectiveness of programs.
- Extracts data and prepares reports as requested.
- Assists other departments on claim denial management and assists with training department managers/directors on the usage of the budgeting system.
- Trains department managers/directors on interpreting the output of cost accounting and contract management.
- Participates in workshops, webinars, and educational activities to maintain knowledge base and contribute to personal growth and development
- Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.

- Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 1-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending, and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
