ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting and new or existing safety hazards Maintain good attendance record; arrive at work timely and conform to scheduled work hours Wear and use appropriate protective gear and equipment, i.e. aprons, hair nets Perform all job duties safely Pull items needed according to resident menu selection/tray line cards Responsible for sanitation controls within assigned work area Break down food carts from units Prepare and plate salads or deserts as assigned Provide efficient, timely and courteous food service to residents Complete cleaning assigned workstation on a daily basis according to posted schedule Scrapes, stacks, loads, washes according to instructions as assigned Unloads and stores dishes, tableware and utensils as assigned Neatly arranges tray and/or table setting with proper tableware, condiments and tray card Perform various food preparation tasks and ensure appropriate serving sizes Prepare or deliver nourishments/supplements identified with resident name room number, date and time Deliver soiled tablecloths to laundry area Responsible for washing and folding dining room napkins Other duties as assigned by your supervisor or the Director of Dining Services
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required Minimum 6 months - 1 year food service experience in healthcare related facility Current Food Handlers Certification is required by start date Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English Ability to read and comprehend diet cards and other pertinent material related to resident care Ability to serve residents or Aides in a professional courteous fashion and timely manner Prepare quantity food of high quality to meet standards of the department Ability to perform Essential Duties Genuine caring for and interest in the elderly and persons with a disability Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
