About This Position
Reports to the SR Physician Liaison. Responsibilities include cultivation of relationships with physicians, their staff and other key referral sources by providing a single point of contact to ensure seamless services throughout the referral process. Assists in removing barriers to organizational access and customer services; and educating the referring physicians on the various services/programs available within the Beacon Health System. Actively maintains timely market intelligence to ensure the organization can serve the community with the appropriate type of programs. Acts in a troubleshooting capacity regarding physicians’ issues or potential issues.

Engage physicians in strengthening their referral relationships by:
- Actively preparing and making high quality sales presentations to external physicians in assigned territory/markets.
- Providing specific details about various programs and services or hospital based specialists to strengthen referral trends.
- Coordinating one-on-one meetings between hospital aligned physicians and independent physicians in an effort to build referrals.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with physicians and their staff by ensuring excellent customer service, timely issue resolution and regular meetings and communication.
Communicating the features, benefits, competitive advantages and other services of the Health System to physicians by:
Working with physicians, as necessary, to troubleshoot and engaging them in communications with the appropriate Beacon entity by:

Contributes to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department by:
- Communicating with the SR Physician Liaison in a timely manner regarding problems or potential problems.
- Working collaboratively with other Beacon departments.
- Maintaining department records, reports and files as appropriate.
- Completing other job-related duties and special projects as directed.
Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:
- Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
- Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department-specific education within established timeframes.
- Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
- Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Complies with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Education (or equivalent work experience). Prior experience in a leadership role is desired. Prior project implementation or management experience is desired. A minimum of three years of medical sales or related experience, ideally including close contact with physicians.
Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrates well-developed knowledge of Beacon Health System’s departmental operations and how they interact with each other.
- Requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of physician issues, concerns and referral patterns.
- Requires the analytical, problem solving, project implementation or management and organization skills necessary to identify problems and deliver solutions in a timely manner and design training programs. Also requires the ability to work independently.
- Requires proficient computer skills and the ability to utilize various software programs (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, databases, etc.). Also requires the ability to develop and prepare reports.
- Demonstrates the leadership skills necessary to elicit cooperation and support from others and a strong customer service focus.
- Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to communicate effectively with staff and physicians and establish and maintain effective working relationships. Also requires the ability to proactively approach others regarding their level of understanding and educational needs. Good listening skills are essential.
- Demonstrates the ability to assess training needs. Also requires the ability, (i.e., negotiating, persuading, counseling, etc.) to provide effective training in a wide variety of situations. Also demonstrates knowledge of adult education techniques and an interest in teaching others.

Working Conditions

Works in a patient care and office environment requiring the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines.
- Travel to physician offices is required.
