SUMMARY: The Project Manager, Pools is the primary lead responsible for the seamless execution of residential and commercial pool construction projects from initial excavation to final commissioning. Combining technical expertise in pool construction and mechanical systems with high-level project administration, you will orchestrate field crews, manage budgets, and ensure uncompromising quality standards. You serve as the central point of contact for clients and stakeholders, translating complex designs into functional luxury outdoor spaces while maintaining a strict focus on safety, schedule, and profitability.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Organizational Leadership & Culture
  • Promote the organization’s mission, vision, and values within the Pools Division.
  • Foster a positive, safety-focused, customer-service-oriented team environment.
2. Pool Project Planning & Execution
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise construction and installation of pools, spas, water features, and surrounding landscape.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Implement and improve systems to optimize workflow, efficiency, and project outcomes.
3. Resource & Operations Management
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Pools Division, including supervising project coordinators, pool technicians, labourers, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate resources, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to meet project schedules.
  • Conduct site assessments and maintain organized, safe job sites.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of pool construction, water features, and installation systems.
4. Financial Management
  • Meet project targets by managing labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Communicate and monitor man-hour budgets with crew leaders.
  • Support revenue growth through estimating, client communication, and upselling landscaping services.
5. Administration & Reporting
  • Oversee project-related administrative tasks: purchase receipts, work tickets, timesheets, supplier invoices, client billing, and AR collection.
  • Oversee the end-to-end regulatory process—coordinating with building departments and utility providers to ensure all permits, licenses, and site locates are secured and valid throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Maintain accurate inventory and project documentation; provide field teams with all required information.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and project documentation to support management oversight and audits.
6. Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, train, and mentor pool division staff, including Field Managers, Project Coordinators, Crew leaders, and Subcontractors.
  • Set performance expectations, conduct appraisals, and support professional development.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
7. Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure work complies with project documentation, quality standards, building codes, and company policies.
  • Maintain safety programs and training; ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all safety paperwork is completed on a daily basis and that company safety policies are being adhered to in the field.

8. Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to address inquiries and ensure satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, new services, and business growth within the Pools Division.
9. General
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
*Seasonal Transition: Snow & Ice Management

From November through April, Park Landscaping shifts focus from pools to snow and ice management. During this time, the role becomes a Snow Removal Project Manager, overseeing a specific division such as Sidewalks, Parking Lots, or Special Projects. Core project management and administrative responsibilities remain, adapted for winter operations.

  • Work hours are weather-dependent and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure safe and timely service during snow and ice events.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years’ of experience in pool construction, pool service management, or a related field within landscaping and construction..

  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Education & Certification: High School Diploma or GED (Required).
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (Preferred).

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of industry safety standards and local building codes.

  • Systems & Technical Experience: Deep understanding of pool installation, mechanical systems (pumps, filters, heaters), and water treatment chemistry.

    • Intermediate proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with Aspire or similar industry-specific systems is considered an asset.

COMPETENCIES:Technical & Functional
  • End-to-End Construction Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the full pool lifecycle, including excavation, structural plumbing, electrical integration, and high-end finishing work.

  • Digital Project Management: Proficiency in industry-standard project management software to track milestones, resource allocation, and project timelines.

  • Regulatory & Safety Compliance: High degree of diligence in maintaining strict adherence to local building codes, safety standards (OSHA/OHS), and internal company policies.

  • Budget & Resource Stewardship: Ability to manage project financials, ensuring that materials and labor are utilized efficiently to maintain profitability.

  • Strategic Problem-Solving: A proactive ability to identify site-specific roadblocks and implement effective solutions without compromising project integrity.

  • High-Stakes Communication: Professional clarity in verbal and written interactions, ensuring seamless coordination between management, field crews, and subcontractors.

  • Operational Adaptability: The physical and mental resilience to manage outdoor projects across varying weather conditions and the flexibility to adjust hours based on project demands.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to direct diverse crews, foster a culture of accountability, and maintain high morale under tight deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Role requires frequent travel to active construction sites. Must be comfortable working in diverse weather conditions (heat, rain, snow) and maintaining flexible hours to meet project deadlines.

  • Regular exposure to high noise levels, heavy machinery, dust, and pool chemicals. Requires consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain, inclines, and excavations. Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling to inspect technical work.

  • Capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as blueprint reading and equipment testing.
