JOB PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Woodridge Site Leader, the Service Manager is responsible for coordinating and supporting the activities of their assigned Service Center to ensure the highest quality service activities to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the effective and successful administration of jobsite services including, estimating, competitive pricing, maximizing profit margin, quoting and order processing.
  • Tracks and schedules installation jobs for field service technicians. Researches and identifies specific part numbers needed for orders.
  • Resolves customer problems that have been escalated from the field service technician or service coordinator level. Seeks to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates goals to the Service Center service team and maintains accurate and up-to-date sales records and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports.
  • Responsible for supervising Field Service Technicians. In collaboration with the Field Operations Manager, maintains discipline, resolves problems, determines performance, and recommends promotions, transfers, or dismissals in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Other supervisory duties include interviewing and hiring new team members.
  • Provides training to others on Servman ERP system, tablet usage, and other administrative functions on an as-needed basis.
  • Other tasks as needed or requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of demonstrated experience with project management, field service supervision, coordination of personnel or similar.
  • Proven customer service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Superb interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply computer technology and software in day-to-day tasks, including Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to understand concepts such as purchase orders, work orders, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree from accredited technical school or university.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or service-based businesses; or prior field-service experience.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and hear. In addition, the employee is frequently required to use hands to write documents, operate a computer, and perform similar office tasks. The employee is required to be mobile within the office and warehouse. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds when carrying office files, packages, parts, etc. The employee is occasionally required to drive. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to drive, ability to view computer screens and documents, and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Protective Clothing Required: Closed toed shoes required. Safety glasses and steel toed shoes required when working in warehouse or field.
