Production Associate at Shippers Supply Inc – Golden Valley, Minnesota

1. Produce custom packaging products safely, quickly, and accurately per company standards.
2. Operate a variety of equipment and machines including but not limited to: large die cutters, a variety of saws, roller presses (laminators), box makers, gluers, powered/unpowered hand tools, lathes, specialized cutting/punching/heat bonding equipment, bailers, compactors, etc.
3. Hand assembly of parts and products.
4. Read production paperwork to accurately follow work instructions and guidelines.
5. Identify and resolve general problems concerning equipment and materials; timely communication to supervision more complex problems.
6. Perform accurate inventory counts and put away materials.
7. Use provided tools and materials to help design templates or jigs to assist in increasing production efficiency.
8. Understand, interpret, and follow BOMs (Bill of Materials) for production orders, and adhering to product specification documents to complete jobs
9. Safely use material handling machinery (Sit-down, Stand-up, Walk-Behind forklifts, pallet jacks) to move raw materials and finished goods around a production environment.
10. May assist the warehouse with shipping, receiving, picking, put-away and/or inventory as needed.
11. Maintain a clean and safe work area, perform general maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
12. Continually look for ways to improve processes and systems to make them more efficient and effective.
13. Must have the ability to work and communicate as a team and closely with others or work independently as business needs demand.
14. Responsible for working safely at all times and providing a safe work environment for all employees.
15. Comply with quality standards.
16. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
17. Other duties as assigned.

1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
2. 1+ year experience operation heavy machinery safely in a manufacturing or shop environment preferred.
3. Experience operating heavy machinery safely in a manufacturing or shop environment preferred.
4. General knowledge of or experience with wood shops or similar environments is a plus.
5. Forklift experience or familiarity with powered machinery preferred. A comfortability and willingness to be trained on such equipment at a minimum. Ability to safely maintain a forklift certification is strongly preferred.
6. A basic to intermediate level of computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and an ability to accurately navigate ERP systems after training.
7. Ability to perform reliable and accurate measurements using rulers and tape measures and perform basic arithmetic.
8. Good written and verbal communication.
9. Strong attention to detail, specifically as it relates to reading diagrams and product specification documents
10. Previous machine operating and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
11. Ability to regularly lift 20 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

• Indoor general manufacturing/warehouse environment (heated only) with temperature fluctuation due to dock doors opening and closing.

Salary Transparency

The pay range for this position is $19-21/hour. Please note that the higher end of the pay range is reserved for candidates with extensive experience and qualifications that exceed the requirements of the role. Most new hires typically start at the beginning of the pay range, with opportunities for growth and increases based on performance and tenure.
