We are currently recruiting for an experienced Practice Manager to join our Behavioral Health team. The BH Practice Manager will spend three days per week on our Stamford BH site and two days in our Bridgeport BH sites.

Position Highlights:

Responsible for managing all aspects of office management including but not limited to authorization, registration, billing, and collection of statistical data. The Practice Manager will be cross trained in all clerical and support functions, including registrar and administrative assistant, and will provide back-up support in these areas as needed. Will perform special tasks requested by the Director.-

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSBILITIES

1. Responsible for supervision of registrar(s)/front office staff.

2. Provides and tracks insurance authorizations and re-authorizations.

3. Provides registration and billing for all DBBHC programs.

4. Handles questions, problems, and corrections in connection with patient accounts.

5. Determines patient self-pay fees.

6. Provides the DMHAS monthly statistics to the State system and corrects errors as needed.

7. Admits and discharges patients for the DMHAS statistics.

8. Provides back-up assistance to the Director for ADP functions as needed.

9. Provides back-up for the Registrar and Administrative Assistant as needed.

10. Assists with orientation of volunteers and students as needed.

11. Performs any special tasks requested by the Director.

o Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.

o Confidentiality of all data, including patient, employee, and operations data.

o Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

o Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.

 Supports and participates in common teamwork:

 Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.

 Uses tactful, appropriate communication in sensitive and emotional situations.

 Follows up as appropriate with supervisor and co-workers regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.

 Promotes positive public relations with patients, family members and guests.

ADDITIONAL GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Professional positive attitude, vision, understanding of customer service principals, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal skills to successfully accomplish tasks necessary to meet high standards of ethical and social responsibility required by this position. Familiar with the services offered at DMHAS and DBBHC, familiar with the neighborhoods, services, and community at large.

EDUCATION: Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.

EXPERIENCE: Experience with Behavioral Health office management, particularly in a healthcare setting. Typing and computer skills; strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary staff. Familiarity with tele-medicine and prior experience a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Bi-lingual in English / Spanish preferred
